Everyones a winner with the Knife Crime Project
Cadets completing their service element of the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award presented their findings on knife crime to a panel of judges. | The cadets have been taking part in the Duke of Edinburghs Award scheme, part of this was to work with the local Police force. They recently visited Dagenham Police Station, during which they were set a project to complete. |

 | The project set by Sgt John Goodwin of Dagenham Police, required the cadets to answer two main questions: "Why do young people carry knives", and "How can this be stopped". Working in teams, the cadets tried to answer the questions in various different ways. |
| The groups presented their findings in front of panel of judges made up of Councillor Linda Reason, Heath Ward Panel Member, Eileen Fearn and Detective Chief Inspector, Ellie O'Connor. Cadets parents were also invited to attend to see the presentations and speak to the staff and committee. |

| The winning team, decided by the judging panel consisted of Cadets Jamie Duschesne, Oliver Marshall-Camm, Nicolas Orozco and Diana Onyeka, who all walked away with a prize of an iPod each. |
