RAF Halton - 3 Stations in a week!

Cadets join RAF Recruits and visit the C17 Globemasters at RAF Brize Norton.

During August 2007, 5 cadets and an Adult Sergeant from Dagenham Squadron attended summer camp, but didn't just stay at one RAF station!

The camp based at RAF Halton, the home of basic recruit training showed the cadets how the RAF trains new recruits.

During their week long camp, the cadets carried out various activities, such as Flying, Rifle Shooting, Drill, Cadet Ben Fox commented "During the week, we had loads to do, from Bowling to Navigation, it was non-stop, but good fun".

As well as all of the activities at RAF Halton, the camp got to visit RAF Brize Norton, where they were shown the latest addition to the RAF's inventory of  large transport aircraft, the C17 Globemaster.

Not stopping there the cadets were then off to RAF Benson, to look around a Puma HC1 squadron.

If all of the activities weren't enough, the cadets were split into flights for an inter flight competition, testing skill, teamwork and enthusiasm during the week.

Cadet Lee Surridge-Davis (2048 (Dagenham) Squadron) was awarded 'Best Cadet' of the camp.
